Aaron Judge closing in on AL home run record
_____________
what a year this is for the MLB
the Yankees Aaron Judge is closing in on Roger Maris's home run record for the American League
he has 59 with 16 games remaining this season - Maris of course hit 61
Judge also has an excellent shot at the Triple Crown which has only happened 12 times in MLB history

As far as I am concerned 61 is the all time record. Nothing Bonds, McGwire or Sosa did counts in my book.

I have erased their numbers from my memory. They took illegal substances and cheated. If I was on a game show and asked who is the all time MLB home run leader it is Hank Aaron at 755. I honestly could not tell you how many Bonds hit in his career or yearly record, I would have to look it up. He was a steroid poster boy, just a lying sack of cheating crap.

______________
before the roids controversy -
should Maris have been considered the single season home run record holder
because of the different lengths of the season
Maris hit 61 in 161 games
Ruth hit 60 in in 151 games
Ruth hit an average of one in every 2.5 games
if he had 8 more games to play in due to the differing season lengths he very likely would have hit more than 61
my answer:
Babe Ruth is/was the home run King - not Maris
reviving an old controversy

Please do - you're leaving out a very important part of the Bonds story.
On a different note, an odd statistic: Maris struck out only 67 times in 1961. Judge has whiffed 159 times this season

the pics show Bonds before and after roid use
what if an Olympic weightlifter bench pressed 1200 pounds - I believe the current record is 770
and then he tested positive for roids - should his record stand_____?
