If he can be president, he can appoint justices.
You don't get to pick and choose what a CONSTITUTIONALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES CAN AND CANNOT DO.
Too bad, so sad.

It is the PRESIDENT who nominates, not congress.
TRUMP is the one who will do his job according the constitution.
The upcoming election has NO relevance.
That danged constitution.....screwing libs again!
The DNC ought to hire someone who can read to 'splain it to them.

Dimwit Scofflaws know what the Constitution says. They just don't want the Law of the Land enforced anymore than the immigration laws.

Funny you should bring that up.
I believe the 14th Amendment allows due process
to all persons, not just citizens.
Trump, on the other hand, calls our immigration laws "dumb".
He must feel the same way about that section of "The Law of the Land".

And yet when he enforces them you whine.
Due process means you follow OUR laws and APPLY to come for here for whatever reason.
You forget that part of DP, dear sir?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Due_process#Magna_Carta
Due process is the legal requirement that the state must respect all legal rights that are owed to a person. Due process balances the power of law of the land and protects the individual person from it.
Btw, goes back a ways
n clause 39 of Magna Carta, issued in 1215, John of England promised: "No free man shall be seized or imprisoned, or stripped of his rights or possessions, or outlawed or exiled, or deprived of his standing in any other way, nor will we proceed with force against him, or send others to do so, except by the lawful judgment of his equals or by the law of the land."

The invaders are getting their "due process". They're going to get some quality time in a tent city until all claims are thoroughly vetted and verified.
And, yes, our immigration laws are dumb. They need to be tightened up. Due Process doesn't make a bad law good.

Really sucks when the reality of how the government works comes along and pees in your corn flakes, isn't it?

The irony is rich....

So, beyond her obvious originalist judicial philosophy (shared to varying degrees by every person on Trump’s list of potential nominees), what’s the problem with Judge Barrett. Why do some progressives single her out for particular scorn?
It turns out that she’s a faithful Christian who lives a Christian life very similar to the lives of millions upon millions of her fellow American believers.
No, really, that’s the objection.
|
This gal is being attacked for being in a "cult" (like the liberal mindset isn't a cult), and while not a Christian I don't oppose her simply based on a label. Hopefully her opponents will bring something more to the hearing than "loyalty oaths" (ie, say like her past rulings in the courts).
If I wasn't convinced that the SCOTUS is bought and paid for to the same level as CONgress, I might be tempted to waste some brain power to follow the theater of distraction that's coming.
But, I shall not.

This is true. "Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven."
On the other hand, some "holy rollers" have a sense of humor.
Enjoy your corn flakes this morning.

Someone should have reminded Mitch McConnell of that a few years back when he stole the SC seat from Obama.
