It's a resolution, not a bill to be enacted into law. If passed, it just says Congress agrees that we need to move this way. Not that it would ever pass the Senate. And even Pelosi has largely ignored it, saying it is one of many approaches that we will look at. Perhaps she thinks that AOC is getting a little uppity for a new kid in her House?

And the people behind this are starting to bicker. AOC is leading this in the House and Markey in the Senate. AOC says that one aim is to do away with nuclear power, Markey says not so.

Quote:
Giselle Barry, a spokeswoman for Senator Ed Markey, a Massachusetts Democrat who is the Green New Deal’s lead Senate backer, disowned the fact sheet and said Markey’s office wasn’t consulted before it was sent out. "We did not draft that fact sheet," she said.

Markey sought to do damage control at a midday press conference, emphasizing the proposed resolution doesn’t address specific energy technologies. Language on nuclear power “is not part of this legislation,” he said. “The resolution is silent on any individual technology that can move us to a solution.”

Conservatives will enjoy painting this picture for what its worth to voters in 2020. As is often the case, liberals will do all the work...we just have to follow the dots they give us.
Speaker Pelosi less than enchante with AOC.If Nancy can bitch slap The Donald, how is a 29 y.o. rookie going to faze her?:

New Green Deal

Is it me or does that drawing of (what I assume is) the Capitol building's spire on Allie's webpage look like an extended middle finger?

I can't imagine her being that subtle.

Did people not actually know what this is?

Its a non-binding resolution. Its a bad one... but even if it passed it doesn't mean anything.

Nope.

Nothing really. Same thing as the Rebuke Votes the Senate has had against the Administration lately. They don't mean anything.

Politics. Any Dem running for anything in 2020 has already endorsed it. When it dies a slow death, the Dems can point to Republicans that didn't support it as planet-killers and mother-stabbers and father-rapers.

It is the long game.
They have now tied up total control of everyone in one nice big package.
That is the ultimate goal - total control.

This has nothing to do with global warming or economics.
It is all about total control.
