After watching replays of today's races, I'm giving Lopez a major DOWNGRADE in rider skills and head-clock timing. Had NO excuse for poor execution of rides, poor pace and rating skills. I will give him more time to mature, but he's now on my no-play list, no matter how good the horse he's riding on, appears to be.

I was just reading the honeymoon is over with this guy.....he'll be on a bus back to GGF soon.
BTW I did like that Seattle Salt pick---relooked at everything in that race just on you picking that one.

STERLING'S BAILERO
Noticed a horse being set-up for a nice maiden score today @ Penn-- 4th race STERLING'S BAILERO 8-1 ML.
All the signs are there, if you know what to look for--early speed-burst 2 back, then last race the "WRL" --or worst race last--meant to disguise the improving form. Notice the works and races are coming closer together---this is what the Late, Great Tom Worth called "wound up tight". It's a very telling sign this horse is sharp as a tack right now--despite his lackluster last 2 races.
Trainer Gaffney is switching distance to the 6F he always had in mind--the big class drop, and the rider change. Gaffney's record looks mundane, until you notice he shows a positive ROI, route-to-sprint. Even the rider switch doesn't impress, until you notice these two are MONEY when they hook up in the right situation.
Today you have a sharp horse, with a trainer that appears to know what he's doing, switching to his money rider, at the horse's lowest class level of his
3yo life.
Sterling's listed at 8-1, but you never know--that could drop to favorite-status before the gates open.
These horses don't all win--but if you ever want a nice profitable hobby---pass your time looking for this exact angle---I've made money with this one for years.
