Yasiel Puig

He's a player. Not sure why they didnt bring him up sooner...but, then again, they're the Dodgers, so, maybe that answers the question.

He only started the year in AA, so if there wasn't injuries in the outfield, why rush him? Of course the injuries have happened, so now he's up. So far, he certainly doesn't look overmatched. He had a great throw the other night, and a 2 HR game already.

Hits a grand slam yesterday. 7 for 16 with 3 home runs. Pretty impressive start.

Yesterday against Atlanta:
You should've seen the throw he made from the outfield to nail the runner going to 3rd. - Perfect !

Now 16 for 32 at the plate for a crisp .500.

Even Trout and Harper didn't start like this.

The legend continues. Puig's first at bat last night, he goes yard opposite field on a changeup. Not just right center but barely fair by the RF foul pole. We see some opposite field home runs, but pretty much always off a fastball. We'll see how he handles the pitching second time around the league, but talent wise, he's off the charts. Definitely worth the price of admission.

6'3" and a very solid looking 245 at 22 years old. How long before the juicing accusations start? Defected in 2012 so he probably hasn't been tested until signing and going to the minors. Hope he is on the up and up and he's a freak of nature.

He looks like a larger Bo Jackson to me. Maybe Bo made a trip to Cuba 23 years ago? LOL

6'3" and 245 doesn't seem that outrageous for an athlete...does it?

Depends how that 245 is distributed. A guy can be 6'0" 190 pounds and be badly out of shape.

As for Puig, he has an extremely long swing. Going to be interesting to see how well he handles breaking pitches. Its obvious nobody is going to wear him out trying to throw heat. Another thing about Puig, he got caught trying to defect after the 2010 season in Cuba so he didn't play in 2011-2012. Quite possible he has gained considerable size since 2010.

I just heard some today on the radio. Whats really odd is that he didn't play at all in 2011-2012. He's huge. Maybe its all legit. Time will tell.
