Robert, I seriously wish only the best for you, young man.
As for the thread topic, I kind of agree with some of the points made by the Zeke. Yesterday I heard something on the news about the keys to a long life. Two keys were don't smoke and don't have more than one drink a day. Can't remember the other points sitting here.
Anyway, I enjoy smoking cigars and I certainly have zero interest in having only one glass of wine or whatver a day. My quality of life is paramount - not living so long that I outlast almost all of my physical functions. I've seen enough of old age to know it's no bargain.

Look at it on the bright side. No more worrying about outliving your money. This age old problem (pun intended) now boils down to simple division:
IRA Balance / (75 - age) = Amount you can blow on the ponies each year

random question for you guys......I realize this is totally irrational, but my dad died moderately young (47) and I've always had in the back of my mind that's how long i'll live to.
Anyone ever have feelings like that?

My dad passed at age 36.
I've outlived him by 20 years,
and have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
