I have done a dozen global climate debates here. The next time we reach a record year, I'll be back. Next year?

If you leave for a year, I'm all in.

Once a year is ok. Won't have to answer irrelevant questions.

But I suspect more record breaking heat waves

All of the studies I've read indicate complete fossil fuel cutover and even attempts to extract CO2 from the atmosphere would only have very limited effects for what's already baked into the cake.

And while sea level may rise an inch or two in the next 20 years, or hotter/colder/drier/wetter weather conditions may become the norm for many areas on the planet, it's still a relatively slow change compared to other things going on. Who cares about climate change is oil goes to $400 a barrel. Who cares about climate change if the economy crashes, the government declares a bank holiday, Social Security is cut off, and retirement accounts are confiscated.

I'm pointing out the you need to step back and observe the real root cause of the problem, which is overshoot. Otherwise, your arguments on this topic remain not only illogical, but every bit as ineffective as Boxcar trying to sway the heathens in the religion II thread....

That's how you're coming across...
I have already answered most of these questions and points. I suggest checking out these posts.

And the consensus studies are more than one as the science has gotten better. Consensus is just that. Percentage of climatologists agreeing humans have tilted the carbon cycle out of balance abruptly. Defined as quicker than humans can adapt to.

Please read the article I linked in that post

Criticize me all you like, but boxcar and I have nothing in common. Not in religion, politics nor science.

No matter what the weather, you'll blame it on climate change. In my 64 years, this past April was the snowiest I remember. Normally, April is the rainiest. Last November was the warmest November I remember. This June and July, the coolest.

No matter what happens with weather, global climate change advocates will kick up a storm. Four hurricanes in Florida? Must be global climate change. No hurricanes in Florida? Why, it must be global climate change. And lets not forget about the phantom fish swimming in the streets of Miami and Honolulu.

So it's only irrelevant when you can't dispute facts. Okay.

You are not thinking globally. That's why you are irrelevant. I have already listed the posts that are the most relevant and provide plenty of verified facts.

I'd like to hear what the people who actually live in those areas say about their climate, rather than hear it from some one like you.

Instead of using the phrase climate change, just use the word WEATHER then everything has a logical reason.

Climate change is not weather

NASA - What's the Difference Between Weather and Climate?

https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/noaa-n/climate
/climate_weather.html

The difference between weather and climate is a measure of time. Weather is what conditions of the atmosphere are over a short period of time, and climate is how the atmosphere "behaves" over relatively long periods of time.

When we talk about climate change, we talk about changes in long-term averages of daily weather.

As far as east coast weather. Although not record breaking here, Canada is...

Heat wave breaking East Coast records Aug 06, 2018 The Canadian Press
https://www.guelphmercury.com/news-s...coast-records/

HALIFAX — This summer is on track to become one of the hottest on record in Atlantic Canada, as stifling heat and humidity levels persist from coast-to-coast, experts say.

"It has just been relentless," said David Phillips, a senior climatologist with Environment Canada, who added the heat wave is expected to last until the end of August throughout much of Canada.
