How do you know he wasn't talking about his own mother, if not whose mother was he talking about? I often visited plenty of long passed relatives when they were in Biden's age range and up and starting to have mental issues. In their final years almost all of the would talk about the long deceased like they were still alive.

You're really caught between that proverbial rock and very hard place. On one hand, you would loathe heaven because of its perfect unity. On the other hand, I don't believe you'll care much for hell either because everyone there would be sharing in your pain and anguish and would be as miserable as you are. Heaven would be infinitely too good for you, while hell would never be good enough...forever.

I stop watching at the mother part. I just saw it as behavior I have experienced from people who had dementia that were in their late 70's and up. My great grandmother started going mentally downhill in her late 70's. My mom took me to visit every other week. She was a big baseball fan and we would listen to the Dodger games together. She seemed perfectly fine except for periods of drifting off into a mindset where people long deceased were still alive.
