I wonder if they were kneeling to raise awareness about Veteran's issues people would have such a problem with it...

Its all such bullshit its amazing people really take them seriously. Personally I think they simply enjoy the attention. Individually they probably get little on the field.
They are probably all hopped up on drugs and brainwashed to be big bad macho men. They all are delusional. What to you expect from people who have no idea what a real job is? They can catch a ball. Whoop-de-doop-de-doo. So can a net. Nets are smarter.

Why did God create football players?
So sports reporters would have people dumb enough to interview.

False Pride

Such unwavering respect for flag and country, which could actually be admirable
if it weren't used as a weapon against those who aren't similarly inspired.

Try having the same respect for humanity as you do for your country.
It's much more productive.

I'm pretty sure most veterans don't appreciate anyone kneeling during the national anthem instead of standing, for any reason. If it is something veterans would not want, people would still have such a problem with it.

I have seen people in wheelchairs ask for assistance to stand for the anthem. They used to play the anthem and show a flag on the screens at an OTB I used to go to decades ago, anyone who did not stand at attention and face a screen drew a reprimand from the other patrons.

I'll stand by previous statement that if they protesting our treatment of veterans most people wouldn't care.

It's a soapbox issue and the president just has a bigger one.

Can't win to lose though I guess.

Or they don't have to say shit and not televise the National Anthem pre-game like they always haven't.

You obviously didn't read the article... he was asked at a presser...

Quote:
"We generally have not broadcasted the anthem and I don't think there’s going to be any change this year. Our plan going into this year is to not broadcast the anthem,” Pitaro said. “Again, there could be changes. It’s somewhat unpredictable what’s going to happen in the world but as of now our plan now is to not broadcast the anthem. We have communicated that back to the NFL. They have not asked but we proactively just as a courtesy and as good partners let them know what our plans are.”
You're right... what an ass...

Can't win to lose.

If the game is worth watching you don't need anyone talking about it while it is on. Especially idiots.
Other than Doc Emrick calling a hockey game, I could live without most announcers, especially the analysts.

A college football coach is called up by the Dean.
His star quarterback is failing math and he will not be eligible to play that week.
"But it's homecoming weekend! I have to win for the alumni. WE need the contributions. He HAS to play!
"I'll tell you what. I will give him an oral math exam 10 minutes before kick off Saturday. IF he passes, he can play."

The next four days, the coach has his quarterback tutored by several other students. Day and night.

Saturday, the Dean comes down to the field and sits down with the player and the coach.

"I am going to ask you one question. IF you get it right you can play today."
The coach tenses up, sweating bullets while the Dena opens up his folder and reads, "How much is 3 times 4?"

The player thinks for a few seconds and then answers, "12."

"Noooooooo!!!!" the coach screamed!
"Give him another chance! Give him another question!"
"PLEASE!"
