Paynter, could you calculate final times for Dream Baby Dream out of the Sunland Derby as well? Thanks for these times, loved Blended Citizen in the Spiral didn't realize how fast his final fractions were.

Equibase scored Blended Citizen a 109 which is the highest in that race since 2000. The final panel in less than 12.04 is quite intriguing. The horse is a Raise A Native line and those are to be respected come Derby day. This horse might shoot for the Lexington in an effort to secure points and potential tiebreaker earnings. Crazy 40 points is potential bubble territory to secure a gate this year.
Dream Baby Dream was approximately 2.5 behind the Ghost who was 2.5 behind the leader at the 6F pole. The Ghost ended up winning by about 2.5. It's a wash.

Oscar Nominated flew home in the 2016 Spiral, so I put him in my Tris and supers. Didn't turn out well.

But if you used Animal Kingdom in '11 you would have been pretty pleased

Call it the approximate seven-year itch. In 2014—seven years after Arlington Park, Del Mar, Presque Isle Downs, Santa Anita Park, Hollywood Park, and Golden Gate Fields joined Keeneland (2006), Woodbine (2006), and Turfway Park (2005) in unveiling synthetic racing surfaces that were advertised as a panacea for horse racing—half of those facilities have returned or have announced returns to dirt surfaces, leaving Arlington, Woodbine, Presque Isle, Turfway, and Golden Gate as the only North American racetracks that will run on synthetics by 2015.

By nearly all measures Animal Kingdom was bred for stamina. Combined with Cary Fotias' "New Pace Top", I used him in exotics that year and hit big!

He’s got double Buckpasser-x through the tail female. It’s gotta be where the stamina is coming from in his seemingly weak distance pedigree. The last three non Raise A Native Derby winners ran a fast final 3/8th and had Buckpasser-x; Nyquist, Chrome, Orb. I’m not convinced he’s the real deal for 10F with that Storm Cat line on top but he has a reasonable shot to break the jinx. I will grudgingly use in the final Future pool.
