So if someone ran 5th, would they get the 20 pts or would it remain limited to the first 3 placings?

The points earned by suspended trainers' horses are not awarded at all - so 5th would only get 5th place points (They're awarding points 1st-5th starting this year, was 1st-4th before). Net effect of these Baffert horse placings is that the overall points threshold to get in will be lowered a little.

Maybe skipping non-eligible placings ( Baffert ), and awarding points to the others equal to a winner's share would have incentivized participation?

What was the last Graded Stakes race which had all horses entered with same trainer?

The 2019 Lake George I would assume.

That Lake George wound up having all three RUNNERS with the same trainer - Chad Brown.
But when the PPs came out, at least there were 2 Wesley Wards, a Wayne Catalano, and an MTO Jorge Abreu entered.
So not quite what we're seeing with the Robert B. Lewis. (Although TLG or others may have more memory of whether there was any expectation of the other entrants running - so it might have been virtually the same.)

Wow.
Capped the Santa card today this morning.
One of the worst I can ever recall. 8 races: 6x5x6x8x7x8x7x11, before changes/scratches. And in each race there are decided favorites of 2 to 3 deep at best in each leg.

I recall Brown saying he gave no instructions to the three jockeys. If the owner wanted to tell the jockey how to ride that was fine by him. I wonder if Baffert will do the same!
