Parx weather vs Aqu weather on Jan 18th
One track cancelled, the other one didnt. Was the "Weather" far different in Pa than it was in Ozone Park?
I don't want to call Parx softies, but the temp seems to be in the 40s.

I live in the area and it was right around freezing during the morning. Sleet and rain throughout. Traffic around here was pretty crazy with a few of the major arteries shut down due to accidents. I don't know what effect sleet and ice has on a track, but it looked like Aqu only got rain. That's all I can think of..

PARX cancels a lot since they got the casino and they say they want their customers to be safe. and by safe i mean they want the customers to go to the casino which never cancels..

It was not about the casino, the rain was freezing as it hit the ground. Lots of accidents in the Philly area.

Philly weather says 42 degrees on weather dot com. Does rain freeze on a wet dirt track at 42?

Earlier in the day it was colder. There were a few big accidents down there.

Freezing rain for hours this morning. Tons of accidents, multi-car pileups, PA Turnpike closed, several fatalities. Do a Google search. This morning was horrific, weatherwise, throughout the area.

What does it matter? Do you really think tracks cancel FOR NO GOOD REASON?
What exactly are you implying with this thread? I don't understand your mentality...everything's a grand conspiracy?
They cancelled to deprive YOU, SRU, of a wagering opportunity...and that's the only reason they cancelled...to screw you over...

In addition to the freezing rain this morning there was a ridiculous amount of rain throughout the day. There was localized flooding throughout the region and in fact, a portion of the Parx parking lot was impassable for most vehicles when I arrived at about 3 PM this afternoon. Parx has cancelled for much more tolerable conditions but this was justified IMHO.

You do realize that those tracks are the better part of 100 miles apart and one track is significantly affected by weather patterns due to proximity to an open water body, don't you? And this effect is further amplified during the winter months.
It's just another feather in the cap for the biggest buffoon posting on PA.

It matters because if people spend time handicapping a track that's not going to run, they could have spent that time on another track. i doubt everyone has unlimited hours to toss away handicapping tracks that aren't going to run for one reason or another.
Where did i say the words "grand conspiracy" or is that you just making things up again?

So you handicapped the track without looking at the weather conditions? A track running in the winter, in the northeast? If you would have checked, you'd have seen the area was being hit with a surprise ice storm this morning and that, gee, racing might just be affected. If you didn't check the weather, you're either a moron or just trolling everyone here---my vote is for both.
But yeah, you upped your post count again, nice work.
