Trump, however, has the distinction of reporting to the same draft board as I did, albeit a few years later, Jamaica, NY. I had my "Greetings" letter waiting for me as soon as my student deferment expired in 1964, but I joined the AF and gave them 4-1/2 years of service (because I was a sucker and a loser?) rather than get drafted.
Never got to Nam, but I was complicit in helping SAC B-52's from a base in New England deploy on Operation Arc Light to drop bombs on Vietnamese cities and villages. Couldn't get out fast enough, and do agree with Trump that the war over there was a mistake.
