I thought his comments about Laffit Pincay were a bit much on one of those retrospectives.

RIP John

Sad news I have fond memories of that 1977 Triple Crown Races

Me and 3 friends rented a Winnebago and drove from

Brooklyn Ny to Louisville Ky to see the derby.

Bear in mind even Pincay apologized for the foul in the Travers.

Little bit before my time, but sounds like a great trainer. Certainly respect his career and contribution to the game.

It was something about lost respect for Pincay, or something like that. Was 30 years ago I saw the clip.

I always wondered why he stopped trainer so early in his life. Not sure I saw that story.

The guy died, and you are harping on a clip from 30 years ago that you don't even really remember. Come on, Greg.

What racing needs is more people like John Veitch. Among his many good qualities was genuine integrity. He was a friend of mine and the world is a little less good with him gone.

Great trainer and a wonderful guy!
I remember him, Scotty Schulhofer and Allen Jerkens all sitting on their ponies watching the horse's gallop at Hialeah.!
RIP "John The Bald "
