Chad Brown knows the shorter distance will be helpful for Good Magic, & I think he will enter him.

I think Justify is the best 3yo I've this seen this early in the year all-time.
The only horse that might beat him today is Bolt d'Oro and I'll have them in an exacta etc

And what does that have to do at all with the final time being pedestrian? Don't hurt yourself patting yourself on the back.

agree
also the Preakness field when there is a dominant Derby winner always starts smaller and then grows.
There have been a lot of locks the past several years in this race but only a couple have won.
Always Dreaming felt like a very likely winner going into the Preakness as well last year.

It really is amazing that owners will put the most iffy and silly horses into the Kentucky Derby, larding up the field to 20 with horses who have no chance, and even whining if their horse ends up on the outside looking in, but we can't even find more than five horses to run against Justify in the Preakness.
Take a chance! Even second money is pretty good, and it looks pretty good on the horse's record too.

Tenfold is a probable according to Asmussen. Amoss says Lone Sailor possible. It sounds like Pletcher, as usual, is waiting for the Belmont.

I've never understood that thinking either. A lot of owners are egomaniacs who just want to say they have a horse in the Derby. How many horses had no chance this past Saturday? Quite a few, yet wouldn't it make more sense for those types to take a chance at Pimlico against a Derby winner coming back on just 2 weeks rest?

Probably going to need a bias to beat justify in the Preakness. Assuming he isn’t hurt or anything like that. Enticed can win the belmont

this is so true-I could never understand it. Magnum Moon should have scratched after the bad draw and horrible weather and went to the Preakness w/a few others

Need a filly or a turf horse or a Euro to spruce this up.
