I don't have a clue...but I believe the outcome won't be close, no matter who wins. I don't see a repeat of Bush/Gore...no way...

I used to think that it wouldn't be close too, but I have changed my mind. The way things are unfolding...I can't see anything but a photo finish at the wire.

Obama by a nostril.

at this point you still think that Obama might win big? he's only been polling nationally 46%-48% for some time now.

This will be 2008 in reverse. There is very strong anti-Obama sentiment out there. Romney should win comfortably, unless he screws up big time.

I didn't come close to feeling that way for a long time, but I do now.

popular vote wise, i would say the democrat has a big problem. there is no question in my mind that Obama is going to lose the vote by a minimum of 1 million. thats a lot of votes to overcome to win this election.

even using that number i have a problem predicting who will win. the 8 days to go could bring down the incumbent.

I'm feeling pretty good too. Certainly better than I have felt since the first debate.

This hurricane may have been a huge factor a week later. Still may be a factor the way it's being hyped.

I didn't think this way in the beginning either. But from what I'm hearing there really is a very strong anti-Obama sentiment out there. I actually think even many dyed-in-the-wool conservatives and Evangelical Christians will be motivated to vote against Obama.

Why is Rommey plus money at all the gambling sites if he's such a lock to win? The betting odds dont seem to be in line with the feelings in this post. Do the posters here know more than the oddsmakers in the market?

Is Boxcar smarter than the oddsmakers who are putting up their money. William Hill has Obama at 2/5 and Romney at 2-1.

What am i missing?

Bookmakers are putting up their money? Or are they offering a balance and collecting the vig? Only when there is a huge imbalance will they get caught on the losing end...there doesn't seem to be a huge imbalance anymore...

Bookmakers set the initial line, and the betting action determines the rest, correct?

Boxcar is right, in that Republicans have to be more motivated this time round.
Democrats were definitely that way in 2008.

Good bookmakers certainly won't.
There's way too much two-way action with a sizeable vig percentage.
Wouldn't surprise me if some of them profit no matter who wins.
