Mohawk Tuesday poppers

Having some fun,
In each race, horses are tossed out if they are the BEST in any of these categories.:
Speed (ave TrackMaster)
Class (ave TrackMaster)
Driver

That leaves possible picks from these losers:

WBSB R1...1 or 3
WBSB R2...3 or 4 or 2
WBSB R3...2 or 4 or 3
WBSB R4...4 or 2 or 1
WBSB R5...8 no choice, must play 8

WBSB R7...8 or 3 or 10
WBSB R8...8 or 7

My Choice for a Win/Place/Show bet
1

If you'd like, post your choices from among these numbers...we'll see what happens.

I wish you gentlemen good luck.

I hope the track conditions has improved today from the terrible conditions we saw last night.

Here are my picks for Mohawk for today (June 11)

Race 2 #7 Luke and Duke 9/2 ML W/P ex box 7 with 3

Race 4 #5 Dovutu Hanover 7/2 ML W/P Ex box 5/7

Race 5 # 4 Kashe 10-1 ML W/P

Race 6 #1 Lovely Donna 3-1 ML Hooked wheels with Betcha Baby in the early part of the race LD lost all momentum and had to back up in the 4th hole. Shuffled to 6th place and she was in an impossible position as the 3/4 rolled around. Then she came around a wall of horses only to fall short by a nose. She is the only confirmed leaver in the race and she should be well positioned to win this race.

I urge you to watch the replay of this race

Race 8 #2 Bluewater Beach 3-1 ML Win Bet at 8/5 min Ex box 2/7

Race 9 #8 Kadabra Queen 5/2 ML Win bet at 8/5 min Ex box 8/2

KQ is a definite pattern change angle play

Race 10 #1 So Frisky 4-1 ML W/P ex box 1/2

Good luck to all.

Nice 'capping Mister SB

For me, I wasn't using real money, just doing a little experimenting.
I send in all my bets in the morning without knowing the odds.
The question I'm after is:
"If my pick wins, is this a race where I can expect a return of $10 or more?"
If not, I should pass.

So I'm testing predicted prices when my pick only has "Besties" in specific categories.

Last night my bot had Race 5 (top 6) picked as 7-2-5-1-4-8

#7 was best in 2yrW%..toss
#2 was best driver....toss
#5 was Morning Line...toss
#1 was best in speed..toss
#4 was best trainer...toss

that left the bot's 6th choice, #8 as the wager...

1...show $3.20
3...place $6.70...#3.00
2...otb
4...otb
8...Win $42.30 ...$18.30 ... $5.90
2...show $2.90
8...Place $11.30...$6.9
8...otb
7...otb
2...otb

$60 in $100.50 return

Can you explain this pattern change angle play?

Its an old Al Stanley angle play.

Look for a horse who is a confirmed closer ie the horse does his best racing in off the pace style and yet in his last race the driver usually following trainer's instructions decides to be the pace setter but fails to win the race. Generally such a horse does well in his next race by reverting back to his old off the pace racing style.

This is what happened in the Kadabra Queen's race who shows two wins in his last six races in off the pace style. KQ grabbed the 4 hole in the early part of the race and then came out first over off the pace to win the race in-spite of the slow fractions set by the pace setter.

The fact the KQ set a blistering pace in his last race is a story for another time.
