Mr. Suff

That is amazing stuff .

A bunch of these are horse racing fans, and others are not hard-core fans, but are now reminded about horse racing, and they are aware of horse racing and the Preakness stakes. The media is also aware of the buzz.

Shaping up to be a good betting Preakness. I'm hoping we get about ten in the gate. I love my field-size.

5/18 (PIM): PREAKNESS STAKES

Some of the probable entrants:

War of Will (Casse/Gaffalione)
Improbable (Baffert/Smith)
Laughing Fox (Asmussen/Vasquez)
Mr. Money (Calhoun/G. Saez)
Anothertwistafate (Wright/J. Ortiz)
Owendale (Cox/Geroux)
Alwaysmining (Rubley/Centeno)
Signalman (McPeek/B. Hernandez)
Bourbon War (Hennig/I. Ortiz)
Bodexpress (A. Delgado/Landeros)
Win Win Win (Trombetta/Pimental)

Wow. That would be a good betting race.

Kentucky Derby was the #1 searched term, over 2 million. These are the specific terms that people used.

YOY comparison for the search term Kentucky Derby. ( 5 years )

Agree. Most of the general public only watch the Preakness if the derby winner is there.

The general public hasn't watched the Preakness in 15 years. Casual Horse Racing fans might pass, but the general public turned away already.

I put the over/under at 8 million viewers for The Preakness. And I'll bet the over.

Bad Decision to Skip Preakness

Maximum Security's connection's decision not to run in the Preakness, I think, is a bad one.

looks like it was done out of bitterness

if he skips the Belmont too most of the other big races in the rest of the year allow older horses and he'll probably get beat by them

right now, his resume is not strong enough to command the giant stud fees they could command if he won the Preakness and Belmont

big mistake IMO

Why bother if their shot at The Crown was taken away? That was a nothing-but-heart stretch run where many would have faded after setting those early fractions. The winner is obliged to go to The Preakness.

Exactly. Country House is obliged to go to the Preakness, if he's healthy but apparently he isn't. I doubt if Mott would give up the chance for a triple crown unless he had to. Yes, he would be the fav in the Preakness and could very well win it because, as someone here mention, it is shaping up to be an allowance race.

An Allowance race with a $2.5M purse. Which qualified outsider wouldn't take a shot at it?

Bodexpress FTW!

Hurt.
No shot for a triple crown.
DQ will be old news to most by then.

Have you seen the state of the older division?

49-20 against.

I'm in the minority that believes all news is good news in today's world.
I'm of the belief that the word "Preakness" will be mentioned many places it previously would not, will ultimately lead to higher ratings.

I'll stake a $50 if anyone wants a friendly? $50 its Over 8 million. I'll take over 8.5 million for 2-1.

I won't get into real money betting, but it will be well under.
