Saturday's card may be the best ever at MVR! 96 horses entered for 8 races. That's an average of 12 per race. The route races have 14,13,12,then 14 each with a 150K purse.

I would have rather seen rolling doubles and pick 3s. Very poor wagering menu for vertical wagers.

I love new meets and I picked up today's card. I am a huge mountaineer player but never played the Ohio tracks so I am i dangerous territory and will be treading lightly.
Any track biases that are predominant enough to consider early in the meet? In particular with today coming up muddy.

Last year E style horses won about 33% for all sprints. 2 turn races E/P types did well. Only 15% wire to wire winners.

Thanks rrpic....Making my trip notes today with smallish wagers...so far 0-2. Race 1 was a great race won by a 2-3 path stalker and Race 2 was a formless bunch bunch won by the horse with the perfect inside out move. Most formful horse #7 appears to not like slp and was thrown at the start anyways. Seemed like #3 was a wiseguy bet for some reason and was awful.
I think I'll make my first semi serious wager here on the 8....too bad there is no horizontal as the next race will likely go to the 2-5 shot, as Lambo pointed out.

Was 7-2 when I bet him with 1 MTP and went sown to 8-5 thsn up to 2-1.
I don't think it was my punch that made him 8-5 but maybe my post.
