"The Fight for $15" - Where are they now?

Most entry-level jobs in the country are advertising at least $15 per hour, save maybe for a few states. Yet there are still openings everywhere, fast food in some places even advertising more. People got what they asked for...WHERE ARE THE WORKERS????

Even though the federal weekly unemployment bonus was discontinued over a month ago, between the extra child credit payments and extra food stamps there is still enough money for nothing going around that jobs for the low skilled on the low end of the wage scale are going unfilled.

Another thing to consider is a part timer, like a housewife working 20 hours a week to help makes ends meet working as a sever in a restaurant that got shut down, rode out the original $600 a week federal unemployment bonus, then the $300 a week one and banked every extra dime she got. Throw the extra child tax credit in there and she doesn't need to go back to work for quite a while.

I knew quite a few young couples with kids where dad worked days then came home and watched the kids while the wife worked part time evenings in a restaurant, earning a couple hundred dollars a week.

Dropped off some packages at USPS this past Friday, the lady at the counter said Christmas season shipping will even be slower than last year. She said plenty of part time and full time openings are not getting filled and USPS takes 2 months to hire someone. Her exact words "Nobody wants to work."
She is an oddball a USPS worker who was a Trump supporter.

The construction industry here in California is suffering from a lack of workers. I spoke with one of my sub contractors, he said he would hire 30 men tomorrow even if they only knew how to breath. I see Hispanics becoming more and more the foreman of companies, Incredible job they do. I do not see the other nationalities of border busters ever filling that bill, other than welfare dependents, drain on are society.

When they get hungry, they will abide by Biden's vaccine mandate...and get back to work.

it won't take many more months until the fixed income retired will be forced to fill many of those jobs especially when they start paying for winter heat.

You are just not able to understand, Biden's vaccine mandate is illegal. Everything is about the thirst for power and the arrogance of the left to not do the right thing over and over. To bring the world to its knees for the 1 %, just put your fist and forearm into a tank of water. You can displace it only for the very short time that you are in it. It is factual that it will be like you were never here, just like your faulty view. Nothing is going to change for you going forward and you know this.

In 1933, The U.S. government under Franklin D. Roosevelt seized all the gold from the American citizens, by forcing them to sell all their gold bullion and coins at well below market prices. Immediately after the confiscation, the government set the official rate for gold at a much higher price than what they had paid to their citizens. And citizen gold ownership in the U.S. remained illegal until the 1970s. Was that "legal"?

You guys make me laugh when you show such anger towards the government's "illegal" policies. It this stuff really NEWS to you guys?

Funny that Biden only mandated the vaccine for people who work, and not for those receiving government handouts.

Never thought of that.

Child tax credit payments went out again on Friday.

Let’s mandate the vax for tax credits and food stamps

The Flight for $15

I read this as the Flight for $15 and thought WTH. Since I just booked two round trip tickets to the west coast for ~$1500. For $15, I can probably pay for 1/3 of one bag to go along. (one way)

Our one local convenience store chain has hiring signs posted saying they're paying up to $18/hr.
