They won't matter.

Have you watched the 7 games the Dodgers and Padres played already this year? The other 28 teams are nothing more than an opening act, an appetizer.

Good at loading it up.

I wonder if the OP was singing the praises for Sammy Sosa in 1998.

Its easy to be spoofed in this game.

The Padres are NOTHING in front of the Astros.

Dodgers and Padres are currently a cumulative 35.76% in Vegas to win series, in a small sample tournament where the luck factor in baseball is squarely between the relative certainty of basketball and the unpredictability of hockey.

Might work out for your claim at about the same rate a 7-5 shot wins, but the cumulative chances of the WSox (11.11), Mets (10.0), Yanks (9.09), and Rays (6.67) have a 1.11% edge. Throw in the Stros for a 7.36% edge, from numbers crunchers who don't like to lose.

It will be interesting to see how dominant some of these top level guys will be going forward, with much more scrutiny on the doctoring of baseballs. Do not be shocked if some "come back to earth". Not necessarily speaking of DeGrom, but really anyone who's been dominant in recent years, or improved sharply. Several Astros pitchers in recent years have seen their spin rates increase considerably, along with a well known pitcher who was very critical of Astros pitchers.

The Astros are good no doubt. I don't think their pitching will hold up long term and they won't miss George Springer until it really matters.

That being said they will play lots of games against the Rangers, Angels and Mariners, so they will win alot of games.

It would certainly take someone getting lucky for the Dodgers or Padres to not win it all.
I laugh at every team on your list except the Sox and Astros.

If Fanduel Sportsbook (Fairmount Park) had opened in time, I would have driven over to bet the Padres at 7-1 to win the World Series, because I saw it as an overlay, not because they were 50% to win along with the Dodgers.

Ten days ago I bet on the Astros to win the AL Pennant...at 7-1 odds. Does THIS seem like an overlay to you?

That's probably a pretty good bet on your part.

The AL IMO is not very good. The Astros have developed some good players behind the headline names, they probably don't get enough credit for that.

The Red Sox can't keep this up
The Yankees don't have enough pitching
The Rays don't have enough hitting
The Indians won't be happy until they sell enough parts off to miss the playoffs
It feels like La Russa is not the right guy to lead in Chicago
The A's are probably good enough to make some noise, but won't push their chips in at trade time like they should

Stros are 6.25 % to take it all. On my scale that's about 11 or 12-1. Key is to make playoffs (1-20 odds of doing so). Top WAR offense to date, and Greinke, Garcia and Valdez in a short series very capable IMO.

I wouldn't frown at your bet.

Only the Dodgers have scored more run than the Astros. On the other hand their pitching staff is a shell of its former self.
7-1 seems reasonable.

Degrom has allowed 11 earned runs this season and he has 11 RBI's. Amazing.
