You asked how people siphon off electrical power without paying for it.
I said it's easy and happens all the time.
That's it.
All you have to do is google "people caught stealing electric power"
Here is a wiki page devoted to the practice:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electricity_theft
The global cost of electricity theft was estimated at $89.3 billion every year.

flat rate electricity from windmills is so cheap you have no need to steal it. you can get all the electricity your heart desires and only play $70 a month plus delivery. my electric bill went from over $1000 a month to $200 just by switching over to windmill i went with a company called Inspire. i sent friends to them as well and that are happy.
i recently switched natural gas providers and am saving about 40% off the gas that used to come from the distributor.
this stuff is so cheap you don't have to steal it

Lambo....
thxs for the tip....I have been with ESCO 's for a few years....
Its a daunting task searching them for a break...
New York's Con Edison are crooks beyond compare....so its needed here
Anyway , I check Inspire out and its giving me a 11.99 rate ..no fu%^ing way
worse than Con Ed...
The last 22 months I've been with Eligo and got a 5.14 rate....
since I'm up in 2 months , its not looking good out there
It looks like Electric Companies are looking to make up for last year because
i cant find anything under 8 cents....
Any more suggestions will be appreciated..
thxs
Mike
PS- below is what I've accumulated over the yeras...it does save if you know what your doing( see diff column)

I just called them....
They offered the .1199 per kilowatt hour
or
A $50 flat rate fee per month....
A rounded average of those 3 years on my chart comes to 8200/year
So,
$50 x 12 months = $600
600/8200 = .0732 per hour
right now I'm at 5.14 but they wont offer that again to me
So yours is not bad considering my choices...
thxs so much Lambo
Mike
PS- I just thought that I dont have to go around the house and shut things off that my wife and daughter leaves on....I can also run the A/C at a normal 68 instead of 72 all day long....hehehehe

You are correct. I made the dumbass assumption that you'd read the link where those people stole power for over a thousand miners, and was implying as to how they'd done that. Evidently, I was off base. As to your last comment, we actually had a physics teacher in high school explain how a local guy stole power from our local radio station in great detail, so I probably won't google your link. Cheers boss.

Wait, you're insulted?
You didn't even "read the whole article" and you're blaming me for answering your ORIGINAL question (a question you worded poorly to the general audience reading a thread about the STOCK MARKET)?
OK. Whatever.

in case you use natural gas, Natioanl Grid was charging me $1.12 per therm, I switched to Direct Energy and now pay $.62 per therm.
just about anything you buy anywhere have huge markups. you either just pay or try to get a better price. i had to buy a refrigerator, Home Depot and Best Buy wanted around $1200 for the unit. Home Depot offered me 15% off. i wound up buying the exact same unit at a local appliance store for $850 and got it delivered to my home and they took the old one away.

"FRUGAL" is the word in these times.....
Actually our gas is Natl Grid too......and they have the best rates out here at around .40 ...
I dont see why and how rates differ state to state
and why you pay so much more....

the top is in?
I have not posted in this thread for many moons, when a number of years ago I was still learning the lesson of "don't fight the Fed" and printers go "Brrrrrr". But, like all good things, someday it will end.
Today Charles Hugh Smith, one of the few bloggers I follow, essentially called the top and said the bell was chiming:
https://www.oftwominds.com/blogjuly2...ll-in7-21.html
Quote:
Old hands on Wall Street have been wary of being bearish for one reason, and no, it's not the Federal Reserve: the old hands have been waiting for retail--the individual investor-- to go all-in stocks. After 13 long years, this moment has finally arrived: retail is all in.
|
Then tonight my older brother emailed me (subject: sharing the wealth), bragging about his top 4 stocks and all their gains, and now he's well above water from earlier losses back in 2008/2009. While not a shoeshine boy, he's no savvy trader either, and definitely fits the definition of "retail investor".
FWIW, I think just about any catalyst should knock the market over - but I have thought that now for about 12 years. Top pick on catalyst - China invades Taiwan, real shooting war for US/UK/Japan, dragging Russia, India, Australia and the Koreas into it.
Six months from now nobody will remember what was so big about Covid.
You have been warned.

agree, the way I am seeing things, gold is about to save itself from a very ugly looking monthly chart at the last minute!
i was always thinking that the start of a bear market in equities will be the start of a major move in precious metals. .

Besides those extremes, closer to home the real culprits are the Feds....
When they really decide to raise interests rates , watch the cookie crumble.....
In their last meeting , just a mention of raising rates tumbled the market...
