CalRacing - New Interface?

looks like they made some changes...

on this new one I can't seem to SEEK to a point in the race!

so for each time i want to see the start from the gate or the stretch move again I have to view the entire race...

is everyone having this problem? if not it could be fixable...

will email them as well

No more head-on replays as well. The fact that the video is choppy and you can't fast forward and rewind isn't great either.

With one simple interface change - they have seriously gone from the greatest website ever created for the horse player into a now totally unviewable website.

Does anyone know an ADW that gives head-on replays with a smooth quality picture like Cal Racing always did until today?

A couple of the on shore ADW's I'm hooked up with just have standard replays and live video.

This feels like the end of the world.

live video is improved

i found the live video to be much better... they're using streaming video with adobe flash, like youtube. It used to be windows media player, and it was very choppy and cut out alot..

Just tried to watch one race replay - was unable to finish it. Max live action I got was 3 seconds at a time. Still shots are faster that that crap.
Who is the M O R O N who runs Calracing? I would like to send him a personal New Year's wish.

Is ANYONE in this industry smarter than a 5th grader? I have never seen an industry so filled with incompetent idiots as this one.

I just did. Disgusting. This is a fine Merry Christmas to us.
Hopefully, they will change it back.
I was at Santa Anita today and several regular players and horsemen were very concerned with the problem.
Not a good thing. Wonder what is behind this? Hint: $$$$$$$

everybody please do let them know you want Head On Replays back!

Now they only have a few races for each horse rather than the old lifetime list of races!. For example Colonel John only has 5 races listed!!! (He has 11 lifetime races and 9 of those are at California tracks.)

problems
------------
HEAD ONS !
can't seek to a point in video
can't ffwd/rewd
limited and random record of RACE HISTORY

this is a devastating blow to anyone who uses trip handicapping in their arsenal.

Right! I agree with all your points, but this is the one that I'm afraid might get lost in the shuffle. Watching a race there right now is like being in prison. I want to focus on the turn sometimes--over and over--and now I find myself checking my email DURING replays because I don't need to see the backstretch run again.

"The Fat Man" received this email and wanted me to pass it along to folks here at P.A.

Here's an email response from Gayle over at Calracingreplays explaining the new format. You might want to pass it on over at PA.
================================================
"Couple of things happened with the start of the Santa Anita/Golden Gate meets. The easiest one to explain is that we changed media providers. Not related to our change in media providers, signal distribution contracts also changed at the start of these meets and we lost the ability to provide replays for the following tracks:

Gulfstream Park

Hoosier Park

Laurel Park

Lone Star Park

Pimlico

Portland Meadows

Remington Park

Thistledown

If the horses you are looking for are racing at those tracks, that is why when you type in a name, the horse no longer comes up. This was news to us just three days ago. We are going to work on the company that made this change in policy, TrackNet. Any direct complaints to the missing tracks would help our case. I will let you know if we get these tracks back and hopefully all the tracks controlled by Churchill Downs as well, but for now our hands are tied.
