I believe that there is a unique rating(s) combining the old stuff with the better factors of his HSH program making easier for others to understand and use..
Just my take....
I'm thinking of asking him for a freebie to keep my mouth shut...for good!!
Think he'll bite?

Dave's stuff is solid. He's been around this game a long time. I'm sure it is a bargain!

I know Dave's stuff is solid. I want to know what I'm paying for.

I've bought quite a few things from Dave and usually get my money's worth and more. But I really am tired of videos...they don't work for me well, a personal preference I guess.
With Dave's background, I'd think a book would be great...any thoughts on that Dave? I can't remember the last decent book on handicapping..not sure I can name one from this century - I was hoping Thask's book would get published, but don't know where that stands now - I have a lot of respect for him and Dave and would really enjoy a good book

My original intention was to produce a book. With the software I am trying to get out I just could not take the time to do the book now.
You have said before that you were tired of videos. I really wish I could accommodate you because you're a very competent player.
The real issue, though, is that it takes 5-8 times longer to produce a book and people are only willing to pay 1/3 as much.
The good news is that I worked really hard to make this video short. It is under 2 hrs.

I'll take the videos over the books anyday, the action speaks louder than the words.

Understood, but when you add all the time up to make videos...maybe? As far as the cost of a book..if it was a really good comprehensive book I'd pay significantly more - maybe I am alone on that. Geez..I paid $100 for Professional Harness Betting by Barry Meadow pushing 30 years ago. It was worth that to me (that's probably 300 or 400 in today's dollars..and I was broke then)
Horseplayers bet $100 on $5000 claimers at Hooterville Downs. If Handicapping the Wall Street Way goes for $19.95, you could charge $3000 I'd easily give Thaskalos $100 for his book, just from what I've learned from him on this site. You? Maybe $99.99?

Books at $99 simply do not sell. Most people expect to pay $12-$20. Charging $100 is just not going to fly.
Sorry, but it just does not work for me, as much as I'd like it to.

I suppose you are right, but how much was the original price of Percentages and Probabilities? Anyway - I am probably alone on this - I used to love getting handicapping books when they came out..been a while.
You logic is correct..$100 won't fly especially with people illegally "pdf"ing every book that comes out...hard to sell books these days. Just nostalgic..carry on with the videos
