So far in the last week or so, he has called me evil and the antichrist. I know I hit a nerve.

I haven't called you evil? You called your self that with your rhetorical question, remember? All I did is point out what scripture says about evil people: They don't understand [divine] justice! Period! And you very obviously don't -- and you have a lot of company on this thread.

Scripture throughout knows only two kinds of people in this world: Saints and sinners, the good and the wicked, the righteous and unrighteous, the elect saints and elect reprobates, the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent and sons of the heavenly Father and sons of the devil.

You don't even know what Jesus said about scripture. He said:

“You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” (John 5:39-40)

As Jesus is alluding to, it's not enough to read scripture, you must experience God and Love which are the same thing. If you did, you would not talk as you do.That's why you are a spiritual rookie. A spiritual rookie can only be a parrot and has no substance.

You don't even understand what you are reading, O Ignorant One! Jesus isn't casting aspersions on his own Word, you spiritual dunce! He's is rebuking his detractors (the Pharisees) because they, like you had no true understanding of their scriptures that spoke to the coming Messiah, i.e. Jesus! Like you and all the other walking dead on this earth, the Pharisees could NOT see Jesus as the promised Messiah in their scriptures. Dead people cannot see anything! A really simple concept to grasp, even for someone at the sandbox level of spirituality like yourself!

Besides this, Jesus said elsewhere about His Word:

4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone , but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Funny how Jesus didn't say that man lives by his personal, subjective experiences and every word from God or that one's personal, subjective experiences won't pass away!

It makes no difference who Jesus was talking to. What Jesus said in John 5:39-40 applies to everyone and especially to you.

Jesus never commanded, or encouraged, his followers to study scripture.

Jesus taught prayer, not scripture.

What good is scripture when all those priests who molested boys can recite scripture in Hell so good they would make boxcar’s head spin? They will still rot in Hell. That’s why Jesus did not teach it or require it. He is a savoir, so he taught us how to pray. Jesus himself prayed continually.

There are cases of NDE’s who were in Hell and it was only the ones who started praying that were saved. They started seeing a tiny white Light that became larger and larger and finally swooped them out of there.

That’s why Jesus did not teach scripture, but prayer. Scripture will not save you, prayer will.
