Because they don't...
It was stupid.
To Tom... We care because we constantly are jousting with the PLAN in the South China Sea. Actions like these that are completely unjustified and unprovoked simply ramp up the risks of the Servicemen over there.

He TOOK the call, he did not MAKE the call.
Blunder?
I think not.
Feel free to hide under your bed if you do.

He answered a congratulatory phone call, maybe if people would take it for what it was they wouldn't have their panties in a knot 2 days later.

Its not that answered the call.
Its that he Tweeted about talking with a foreign leader of a country we admit doesn't exist for geo-political reasons. Then when the Chinese offered him a chance to just let the issue rest he proceeds to go on a trade and currency manipulation rant. Discusses the billions in arms we give the Taiwanese and makes what was already a faux pas even worse.
The man has the maturity of an 8 year old.

Do you REALLY believe the the Chinese don't know about the arms that we SOLD to Taiwan? Do you REALLY feel that the Chinese should be able to tell us who we can and cannot talk to? This is the media blowing thing out of proportion, because they don't like Trump. I suspect that you are doing a lot of hand wringing for the same reason. Where was the outcry when Obama was making a SECRET deal with Iran? It is the current administration that has sold 12 billion in arms to Taiwan, since 2010. The Chinese have voiced their objections about it, where is the media outcry, or yours?

Because the status quo was that of a territory apart. Its been that way for 40 years. Everyone knows what goes on... you just don't talk about it.
This is my point though is even after the initial mistake the man becomes further unhinged.
These actions de-stablize the relationship and the region.
But I'll shut up... it makes perfect sense to toss away 40 year old protocol. I'm sure there is a brilliant end-game here with yuge results.

Looking ahead, Trump nominates Ben Carson Secretary Housing Urban Development (HUD). Seems a natural fit to me.
I just hope its not seen as.... oh never mind.

DJT has done plenty of things that 'don't make sense' and yet, here we are. What he is doing doesn't make sense to some because those people aren't used to winning, they don't know what Winning looks like.
You and your leftist pals are so conditioned to be critical of everything he does that you are operating in a world of delusion. Your brain doesn't have the ability to think rationally about Trump, the minute you understand this the better off you'll be.

Ian Bremmer:
“It’s almost as if Trump was looking to kick off China relations as badly as possible.”
He is instigating confrontation. I don't know how anyone sees this as any different. It just shows that either most here are too uneducated to understand political discourse or simply refuse to admit its a blunder.
At least JR throws out the ICBH defense... that's how pragmatic realistic conservatives will have to wade through this presidency... It could be Hillary.
