Arrogate's Last Work
Anyone else not impressed by this work? He'll be 1-20, but coming out of the toughest race in his career and a layoff isn't this the time's he's most vulnerable?

Interested in hearing others thoughts on the work.

Bafferts comments were a tad bit interesting...if he does enter Connected I will almost assuredly make a wager when the horse is 1/20. I dont expect to win but I thought the comments he made were a bit concerning.

Arrogate looked fine, it's Cat Burglar that was unimpressive. I'm pretty sure that was a 3yo claiming filly that he failed to get by in the stretch.
I would say the BC Classic was Arrogate's toughest race to date.

I knew he was not right going into this race. That work was not good.

You must have made a huge score.

Had the winner to place and show. First time I had a solid opinion and could make more money even if the horse I liked didn't finish first - lol! What a strange sport.

I had quoted a few Baffert words here and there, and as you pointed out with the work, well maybe more predicable than his 1/9 loss.
Still though, to run that bad, shocking.

When a horse runs this poorly something is usually wrong with him.
The real problem is what does Baffert do next?
If they diagnose a problem, then he may just be done for the year. But if he comes out of the race OK or bled or something like that, he may still want to start from zero instead of going on from here and getting beat up in the Pacific Classic.

all I know is that wasnt the same horse by 20 lengths, so either way my guess is that was his last race.

You thought it looked so bad that not only he would lose but run out? Arrogate places and the horse you picked wins and youd gotten basically squat. A score is a score.

To be fair, the only real way to bet against him in that spot was to hope he'd be off the board. I can't see betting the winner to win at 7-1.

I agree but wouldnt you spread in a 5 horse field? Only one horse isnt going to pay off big and if its yours, you'd be sick.
