McCain is historically noted as telling veterans it is “foolish” for them to pursue non-VA care while he refuses to receive health care from Phoenix VA. It is important to note Mayo Clinic now refuses to accept Veterans Choice to treat veterans eligible for non-VA care.

I certainly did not favor his positions the last few years, but a tip to you is when someone is not running for an election let it go. The easy turn to take is the very personal one, but for the long haul is much shorter ride dumping the personal stuff. Supporting data suggests that one individual is only part of an accumulative effect, and the focus is better spent on the larger part of that.

I see it as these POS politicians are making it personal.
MY life and well being are directly affected by THEIR stupidity,. their lies, their corruption.

NOTHING is as personal as politics.
I can ignore idiots like hcap, but not McCain.

I will respect his service in the military, and regret his suffering as a POW, but I will NOT, miss him.

So people should vote their party line instead of their conscience?

It is often times not possible to separate the two.
We do not get action from single candidate. THEY all serve the party so they can get re-elected. So WE have to vote for the party, not the candidate.

I have hardly ever seen a democrat who represented my values, but I would consider voting for one if I ever did.

Our right to vote is severely compromised by a thoroughly corrupt systems that the very few we can vote for.

Parties are the worst thing to ever happen to this country.

I have voted for a lot of republicans over the years that sickened me to listen to them. But the alternative was let the dems to totally screw up the county with their pathetic values.

That was the allure of Trump - both parties hated him so I HAD to vote for him. When that many scumbags hate you, you must be good.

I did enjoy watching him humiliate the republican candidates.

Tom,

Speaking as a Canadian, I strongly believe you are on the right track. I know I will regret speaking out because I rarely comment on anything other then Horse handicapping. I have been on this board since 2003 and I thoroughly enjoy the topics discussion especially relating to horse racing. I am disheartened by the mean and vicious nature of the dialogue that the left and right encounter each other. I believe that in the/a final analysis that we are all in the same boat. We are all going to win or lose together. Nobody is going to reign supreme over each other.

I say this after consuming seven plus ounces of Maker's Mark so in the insuming onslaught please remember I am probably left of any Democrat and because of my age right of any Republican.

Peace be with you!

Denis

Here is the onslaught.
Sharp post.

Refreshing to read posts that make sense.
I will assume it was you and NOT the Maker's Mark talking?

You should join in more often. From the left or from the right.

The Left is in trouble and they know it.

I don't really think I can pick any more races but you never know.
