Yes.
And a quick recovery to Kendrick Carmouche, rider of Speechify, who flipped over the tragic Shore Runner. Last I heard, Carmouche was still in the hospital.
A miracle that Speechify was walked off with nothing much more than a cut to the knee.

Carmouche was ridding the ill-fated Shore Runner.

Another gone. Rest in peace.
Graham Motion's runner, Tacticus, suffered a fatal breakdown in a workout this morning at Keeneland.
Don't care how one could try and justify this, but it's horrible.
Keeneland better get its problems straightened out.
AND DAMN QUICK.

I think we are all too quick to blame the racing surface.
So before jumping to that conclusion, let's find out the facts.

That's all I ask. But when was the last time you witnessed three stakes horses die to fatal breakdowns on the same track in less than 24 hours? All three take a bad step? All three unsound? Surprisingly odd, if so.

One would conclude that with that many breakdowns in a short period of time, then there must be an issue with the track.
The heavy rain could be causing the track surface to be inconsistent.

I have to agree tgat there might be an issue. Seems a bit too coincidental.

Turf course was pathetic yesterday.
Donna Brothers stuck a pen into the ground and it sunk right in and she had trouble pulling it back out. Less than a foot away, she couldn't stick it into the dirt it was so hard.

Just awful they better get it corrected before the Breeders Cup. If it continues I would think twice about sending my top horses there.
