I don't know if the internet is a good thing or bad. It gives you the innermost thoughts of people that pre internet you would never have heard of. Why someone would spew hate toward someone who reminded them as a loving grandma in their youth is baffling. The funny thing I see women of the queen's age as grandma, when now she would be my mom's age if my mom was still alive.

If but for only a moment in time, through her death, this lovely woman seems to have brought a sense of calm and peace to many people in all parts of the world. 🕊️

"...May God bless the Queen, may she reign forever in our hearts, and may God hold her and Prince Philip in abiding care." ~ President Donald J. Trump

Nicely put MargieRose, I thought her commitment to duty with unwavering style and grace was something else.

No, she didn’t. In her 70 years on the throne she never gave one policy speech.

The British monarchy is feckless.

I may be politically poles apart from most people who have posted here , and have had run ins with more than a few, but I would sincerely like to thank you for the kind comments and respect you have shown. I am a monarchist, although not a raving flag waving one, but have to admit I have had a tear or two during the night. I am sixty now and never known another head of state and I admire her immensely. I can honestly say she has been a beacon of light as I have grown up with her. There's an eerie feeling over here this morning as we mourn her passing but, she has passed her mantle to Charles, it is going to be strange now to refer to a King rather than a Queen.

There are so many moments of her reign I will remember but I think the one below showing her fun side will last forever. It is from the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics.

Thank you once again. RIP the Queen, long live the King.

It is amazing that she had been queen for all of the life for a majority of the British empire residents.

And that she made Royal Ascot every year since
1946 up until this year! (Per FanDuel TV)

She was a strong powerful women that maintained an ability to hold the British a proud and dedicated people. Even after being bombed daily for months by the Nazis, they held together and never caved. Credit Churchill and the army all you want, but it was the queen that instilled that character.
The British to this day lay claim to victory in Europe after WWII. To a large degree this is true, American forces joined in to defeat Hitler 2 years after the British had engaged in the war.
~ RIP ~

I don’t think she was Queen during WWII.

There are pics of her working as a young woman in the British Army during WW2

And your lack of class is a perfect representation of the Liberal Democrats.

Joe Briben was sworn in... duly elected is still suspect.

Biden doesn't deserve any respect.

Respect for "The Colonies"

Remarkable break of tradition, The Queen sang our National Anthem after 9/11.

Thank you,
