Not sure but they might not be. This is a friggin disaster unless you're a busted out horseplayer paying retail takeout like me.

Stock up on lentils and pasta. A half an onion and a little garlic and olive oil and you can eat cheap for months.

Question. Isn't this good news for those who are buying?

For those who bought long or sold short would not this be a windfall rather than a massacre?

If you believe it's close to the bottom.

But, being successful in the market is knowing when to sell. Everyone is a genius on the way up.

What's missing from your data is the date of the contract. January gold at $1000 is not the same as July gold at $1000.

I'm not a data guy and there are much smarter people than myself on this board.

I have extremely limited exposure to this disaster and am glad for it.

DJIA Opens down over 100. Hopefully it will recover of the losses during the short trading day.

The only stock I have exposure to is WDFC and it kind of holds it's form when things get bad. But this bad? Everyone is gonna take a hit.

Mnuchin opened mouth and inserted foot on that liquidity gaffe...

Oops.

Best way to avoid bank runs is not talk about bank runs...

Are you questioning a Stable Genius hire? Stable Genius only hires the BEST.

In all seriousness, who is fired next - Mnuchin (empty suit - I don't care about his "storied" Wall St career) or Powell? Probably the former, as the rules on firing a Fed chair aren't black and white.

To be fair, the S&P 500 is up roughly 17% (including dividends) since the Stable Genius was elected (he should be given credit from election day forward, imo, as the market started anticipating the corporate tax cut right away). That's a little over 8%/yr. Hmm, very ordinary, especially for Donald J Trump.

Personally, I never understood why Trump thought it was a good idea* to place so much emphasis on the stock market, but we must follow his directions. Now he's weighed down by the market.

*besides his narcissism...yeah, he really cares about middle America.
