CA's ban on plastic bags

CA is to start a ban on stores supplying plastic bags for shoppers today.

What I want to know: does this extend to the plastic bags cities supply dog owners to use to pick up their animals droppings? And what about those barf-bags on air planes, do those count too?

I mean, really, a plastic bag is a plastic bag. Ban one, ban them all.

In Dallas starting today..... if you want to use plastic , you have to buy it from the store for .05 cents......... of which 60 percent is going to the city as a tax

A revenue generator, eh? Much like red light cameras.

I wonder if 'paper or plastic' will come back, as in, "free" paper bags or "additional cost" plastic?

I would think the Greenie Whackos would insist on the state heavily penalizing paper bag users since such reprobates obviously condone killing trees.

Well, then, since CA is blessed with so many palm trees, perhaps the state will promote use of baskets and bags made from palm fronds. That way they can legitimately employee basket weavers.

Black market baggies.....PM me, I have a good supply I would be happy to GIVE to Calif. resident, just to do my part in undermining the moonbat!

I heard something about San Fran (?) not allowing food to be thrown away now? Must be composted or some such nonsense?

You guys must be a lot closer to the moon than the east coast!

Great idea! At minimum wage and then they can be taken off the welfare rolls.

There is a silver lining behind every dark cloud.

Call it force care -- second cousin to foster care.

Alas, how true. Not for nothing has our flaky governor been known as "Moonbeam" since the 70's.

Obama just gave amnesty to 5 million illegals. Starting am tomorrow they can apply for driver's licenses and then get a $15 hr. job making baskets.

Obama has now led more foreign invaders to our shores than King George.

You've got it easy - in Corvallis, home to the Birkenstock faux liberals, NO PLASTIC BAGS AT ALL - and if you need a paper bag it's a nickel.

Well, of course back when they started "paper or plastic" a few decades ago, it was to ENCOURAGE you to use plastic for that very reason. (Also because paper takes up 10x more room in the landfill -- this was before widespread recycling.) I'm all for avoiding environmental damage, being smart, and all that, but it is funny how hysterical everyone gets on these issues considering the experts predictably change positions (often to the exact opposite) every 20 years. (It is always the issues with the most irrational fervor on both sides that have the least amount of real evidence to back up one side.)
