Bull Market Horse = Chalk, Pretty form, Everyone is on the bandwagon.

Bear Market Horse =4th Choice or higher, Ugly form, Disregarded by the Public.

I prefer the 3rd kind of horse.

A horse that wins and pays you money.

Well, neither of these two 'types' will earn you money.

They aren't plays. They are both broad categories within which organize horses. Starting points, to begin to look for a contrarian play.

Maybe I'll post an example or two this Sunday or Monday when there is a break in the live action.

Doesn't seem to be much interest or input.

It’s not about winning races but making money.

Any fool can pick a winner.

Only the smart and very lucky can turn a long term profit.

Strong Bull Market horses have no intrinsic value in a parimutuel pool w/ takeout.
Any Bull Market horse that you don't feel is a rare 'False Favorite' makes a short-field race an auto-pass. If the field is big enough, a Bull Market horse can occasionally be used as a 'key' along with strong secondary-opinions (featuring live Bear Market horses somewhere on your ticket).

Bear Market horses are most often truly non-contenders (and thus, often have no value). Ugly form, and public disregard correlates w/ slow horses... On the rare occasion that you do feel that the ugly form does not represent the quality of a contender, Bear Market horses are high value.

And within these two categories are two of the most valuable kinds of information in horse racing:

Weak(false/vulnerable) Bull Market horses

Strong (contender) Bear Market horses

these two rare occurrences are the most difficult to obtain, and the most valuable information in the game.
