It's not myth. As stated previously, the rejection of the Messiah by Jews is clearly stated in both the Old and New Testaments. Besides, the Jews of Jesus' day didn't set any new precedent! Not by a long shot! About a thousand years earlier, they categorically rejected the lordship of their divine king -- YHWH. That really made the prophet Samuel quite angry at the pompous Jewish asses who insisted on having a human king just like the gentile nations around them. But God assured Samuel that he didn't fall out of favor with with the Israelites -- rather He himself did! The Israelites ultimately rejected God's rule! So the Jews in Christ's day were simply walking in the footsteps of their ancestors. However....this time they doubled down on their rebellious rejection of their king!

In Samuel's day God appointed a circumcised Jew from the tribe of Benjamin to reign as king over the Jews. But in Christ's day, the Jews swore allegiance to an unclean, uncircumcised gentile called Caesar! When Pontius Pilate offered to the Jews a beaten up, flogged and bloodied Jesus as their king and offered to let him go because he could find no wrong in Him, the Jews retorted that they had only one king -- Caesar! So, in this respect they truly outdid their apostate ancestors and sunk to a new depth of depravity!

If you ever wondered who the [spiritual] Harlot who rides the Beast in Revelation 17 is, you no longer have to wonder.

Just reporting the facts. It's all there in God's Word.

Besides what I posted in my last post, there is an abundance of additional biblical evidence that Israel was essentially and substantially an apostate, covenant-breaking nation. First, the northern kingdom of Israel was carried off into captivity by the Assyrians for their atrocious sins, including offering up their own children to the fires on altars to the pagan gods of the gentiles. Then several hundred years later, the southern kingdom of Judah committed even worse sins than their sister to the north and they were carried off to captivity to Babylon for 70 years. Then finally, the committed the worst sin against God imaginable by rejecting his righteous and holy Son and delivering him up unjustly to Rome to be murdered. So, God visited upon the Jews his worst judgment yet by destroying the covenant religion of Judaism in 70 A.D! So, you see...your people have a very long and well established historical track record for playing the religious harlot with their apostasy.

It's all recorded in God's Word.
