I don't use stride length data in my handicapping, but I found these guys awhile back, and it looks like they use it mainly for sales info, but they do have a portion on race video evaluation.

I always thought American Pharoah had the most perfect stride of any top race horse over the last 20 years or so. On the other side of the coin is a horse like Vekoma, with his paddle wheel action, though maybe his stride length is not compromised too much by it.
I remember that thread you reference and reading speculus's study years ago, I sounded smarter back then...
