our franchise-model medical system does a solid job at treating the symptoms of the diseases which our society causes; (diabetes, heart disease, anxiety, etc...)...
beyond that, competence varies, and you have various barriers-to-entry
I'm currently dealing with a 'genetic specialist' at the prestigious "Johns Hopkins", who:
misunderstood the issue with my vertibral artery (which the surgeon explained that yea, he 'sacrificed' that artery during the latest surgery) (no advantage to additional corrective surgery, but a 'pain in da neck'/occasional dizziness/symptoms, but instead typed "No blood flow in the L VA, but "Should Not Be Causing any Symptoms" ????? ),...
misdiagnosed the mitral valve prolapse that I've had since I was a todler (again, no advantage to immediate surgery because in a resting state the regurgitation isn't terrible -yet Typed "No M.V.P." in the report),
and whose team not only missed the big heart murmur that any nurse can feel with her hand(ever since my dissection) but actually typed "No Heart Murmur" in the report...
It's like if a doctor, layman, or gov't insurance worker read the 'report', they wouldn't have an accurate understanding. - So I'm dealing with all this, and trying to not feel 'gas-lighted'...
it's enough to make even the most level-headed
bloke like myself, a bit 'apprehensive', even.
Have to insert a catheter every time I pee
(because of a combination of my genetic disease, and my 9th hernia surgery occurring on December 28th, and having to wait until after 'New Year's holiday break' to get the surgical catheter removed.)
I'm already jack nicholson SHINING level anxious when I have to pray that my medical supply company and my medicare (continue to be denied 'medicaid') will approve each bi-monthly shipment... Hopefully China doesn't stop manufacturing my catheters
**** i forgot the point of all this...
yea... The incentives, and the barriers-to-entry/moats of the pharm industry, the varying competence of the doctors, the varying level of care to the patients...
