Things not looking good for Billy Turner (RIP)

He's an important part of racing history, and the prognosis looks grim. There are efforts to raise money for him.

I was lucky enough to meet Billy Turner a couple of times when he trained a couple of horses for some friends of mine. Sad day for the people that remember the Slew days.

Slew was before my involvement in racing. Punch Line was my Billy Turner horse. Got to meet him a couple times when my group had a horse with PG Johnson. RIP.

Sad news. Was not a fan of the sport during the Seattle Slew days, but met him a few times while he trained a horse we had a small share in with Castle Village some years ago. One weekend at Saratoga, my wife took three of her friends up for the weekend; she took them over to see the horse and Billy and his wife couldn't have been nicer, it made a great impression on them. So we have fond memories of Billy as a good person, may he rest in peace.
