The problem with bowl games is you simply don't know which teams even give a damn about playing. It was obvious early on that Nevada didn't want to be there. Same went for BYU who thought they should have been in a NY6 game. There are teams in NY6 that don't want to be there.

To prove my point, there are teams that had there bowl game canceled, Memphis, East Carolina, SMU, and they all refused to move to the Sun bowl and play Washington St. That is what happens when kids haven't played in a month, they lose interest. I can't stand these announcers who keep saying we shouldn't cut down on the number of bowls because they deserve it and want to play. Simply not true. Have you ever noticed the number of blow outs in bowl games. It is incredibly high over the past few years.

If you like Ohio St. be careful. Three starters just opted out of the game to "prepare" for the NFL draft.

You have to be selective for one. Also, like I mentioned you need to decipher which teams want to play. Generally a team that underperforms during the regular season and doesn't get a bowl they were shooting for you need to be careful betting them. Also, you have to watch which players opt out of bowls and then with Covid how many teams are missing multiple guys. An example is Ohio St. they are disappointed they missed the playoff and how motivated are they going to be to win the Rose Bowl.

Clemson is the better team but I question how motivated they will be. Not only didn't they make the playoff, they missed out on the Orange Bowl. If this was the regular season I would pick Clemson, but then again if it were then the spread would be closer to 6.

Oklahoma is massively overrated and has lost their coach BUT Oregon threw in the towel against Utah in the PAC 12 championship. You could tell they had no desire to compete with a Rose Bowl on the line. Plus their coach is gone. No one should put money on this game, way too many variables. If Oregon covers the spread the game will go over if they don't, the game will be under. That is about as much certainty as I can predict.

Stupid prediction on Maryland yesterday. They hadn't been to a bowl game since 2016 and hadn't won one since 2010. They wanted to win whereas Virginia Tech had no desire to be there.
