What I actually did, was to create some factors that were similar to what Handi has in his software and run them through our ObjectMaster program against the last 2 years of claiming races.
As I recall, it looked at about 20x20x20x20 combinations, looking for factors that got longer-priced winners in the top 3. Then I gave those objects to Milford.

Send your request via private message to Handiman.
Or maybe he'll see it here.

The biggest issue was that the factors are kind of mainstream. So much so that they correlate pretty highly with the tote board.
I did one study with a few things that might be easily implemented like lengths/positions gained between calls of the last race. Also a time-decay approach to factor analysis that has done well for HSH users that is not very difficult to program.

Just heard from a Handifast user this morning. Playing Parx and in the 3rd, a 2 1/6 steeple chase, Handifast top 2 horses were the 6 and 5. The 6 came in first and paid $22.00 and the 5 was the back end of the exacta that paid like $144 I think it was....
Pretty cool.
You can do some cool stuff with Handifast when you get the factors and weights right.
