Couple questions - - Takeout? 22% or?
- Is this a ('mandatory')payout? and/or does this carryover into their Rainbow thing??

I like the regular pick-6, but this is a nice sequence with all stakes.

I've seen posted that it's a 15% takeout.
It could get interesting though having to put this in a day ahead of half the races. No morning scratches, will weather cause surface changes, no preview of possible track biases for the day.
I may try to limit day one as much I can so I can go deeper for day 2 runners

A typical small bettor will piss away $144 on a bet that proper structure will require an outlay of >$2000.
Racing never fails to screw its core fan base with their pricing and horizontal wagers structure.
The base cost should be $0.50-$1.00.

$0.50-$1.00 is just as bad (if not worse) for a typical small bettor, and it's also worse for the syndicate/teams.
50¢ seems helpful, but it's not.
A pick-6 for a huge, deep 2-day sequence like this would have to be more like a $0.01 (1¢) minimum to actually begin to open up to typical small bettors.

Having played P4 for years and stopping on the P5 which is currently the best bet all in all, I think the pick 6 should be at least $1 minimum. I like the fact that a lot of action goes into the P4, but for me the 22%+ takeout is far too steep. I think the $.50 is the perfect balance of affordability and achievable to make the score worthwhile.
The only way to really make the $2 pick six better would be to somehow limit group buying, but unfortunately, that can't really be done.

Yes, with the weather bobbing and weaving at this point, and almost certainly knowing rain will be there Saturday, it really screws this bet up.
Any doubts or misgivings with a $2 min wager on six legs is sadly, a no play. Not even a second thought.

And I'm under the assumption those would have typical rainbow style carries after the Derby if there's no single winning ticket? The Churchill website has the designation for these days as the "single 6" wager being in play so hope that's accurate.

They have on the wager menu S6 which is the "single 6" but they also said in the original missive for the All G1 pick 6 that there would be regular $2 pick 6 wagers offered for both Oaks and Derby days. The problem is that the wager menu as above doesn't show the regular ones, just S6 (race 6 Oaks day, race 7 derby day).
