might want to be careful about quoting a guy from Shell - they're like Dutch/English so you can't believe those socialists

What the hell does that comment have to do with you questioning new finds?
Wow, you are on a roll lately.

No inside info but I think DVN and APC are ripe for takeovers.

APC take over works for me. I established a position in APC a little over a week ago -- got in on a dip.

IBD top ten for today:
Quote:
6 The No. 1 offshore drilling firm earned $3.71 a share in Q1 -- $3.80 ex items -- easily beating views of $3.33. Revenue more than doubled to $3.11 bil, above views, thanks to its GlobalSantaFe buy. Higher day rates for its rigs also helped. Transocean (NYSE:RIG - News) shares hit a new high but closed down slightly. Energy companies Pioneer Natural (NYSE:PXD - News) and Devon Energy (NYSEVN - News) also topped on higher prices.

Good news?
Hit a new high in price today with no end in sight. Really good news.

They said this about Gore and Kerry, and the after election post mortems both times found that the "youth vote" was split both times and they "didn't" come out in record numbers.

For those who say "this time its different" I must disagree. We heard that with the tech bubble: it wasn't different. We heard that with the housing bubble: it wasn't different (actually the housing market is quite strong here thanks to the oil boom). I just don't know how long this oil boom will last. I hope 5-7 years to get me to retirement age.

CJ, I agree with you. I was in the middle of the last oil boom, and never saw the bust coming. People bad mouth the oil and gas industry, but one thing is true, as long as the economics fit, the industry will create supply...to the point of over supply. I am still of the opinion that the Natural Gas Markets are a house of cards, but, will not be tilting at windmills, and let the Markets take care of themselves.

We'll know the boom is ending when they come out with "Oilman: the reality series" on TV. Seriously we already have car and shoe salesmen playing Landman.

In Texas the courthouses are full of people who probably are a discredit to car and shoe salesmen. I think you could make a good living just following some of these companies around, picking up the crumbs that they either miss or screw up..
CeeJay, are you an Independent or a Company Man?
