RACE 6:
OPT CLM 62K–6.5F TURF

7 RATTATAPTAP 5-2
4 BARUTA 3-1
2 MARK OF A GEM 6-1
3 KOOL KAT 6-1

7 RATTATAPTAP
Looked like a filly with a future after she broke her maiden by a nose over a filly who came back to win by 7 for Baffert. She didn’t handle the stakes races. Winner two back was favored in the Ky Oaks and ran 4th. Big trainer change to a trainer who is winning at 30% this meet.

4 BARUTA
Speedy mare has done her best running on the turf and is 4 for 5 in the money at this distance. Been a beaten favorite in 7 of the last 8 times she was preferred. G1 placed in Brazil. Will need to be reeled in.

RACE 3 --- OPC 80K–6.5F TURF

2 EVO CAMPO 6-1
5 LONG HOT SUMMER 2-1
1 SEA MONA 3-1
4 BELLE ET BETE 4-1

2 EVO CAMPO
Female tree produced Mr. Prospector, one of the top sires ever. Bred well for grass and she ran to the breeding with a 66-1 debut win at Lingfield. Been working with two Grade 1 placed stablemates, Queen of the Hill, Flamboyant, outworking both.

5 LONG HOT SUMMER

Last was better than it looks. She broke slow, made a big middle move and tired in the lane. Winner is a stablemate of this one and won 200k stakes by 7 next. Dam won 4x on turf, all sprinting. Cost 260k.

OPT CLM 20K – 1M DIRT

6 THERMODYNAMICS 9-5 Stevens
1 WONDERFUL LIE 8-5 Talamo
2 WARREN’S TRICIA R. 6-1 Desormeaux
4 BIG BOOK 4-1 Bejarano

6 THERMODYNAMICS Should get the run of the race off the contested speed to her inside. Couldn’t keep pace with a D’Amato filly who is undefeated on dirt. The dam was a 445k winner. Stevens stays aboard. Middle move, holds on.

1 WONDERFUL LIEProbably the best filly in here. She has been game in most of her race against top level foes. Don’t like the long layoff from last summer and the fact that she comes back w/ sluggish works. The one to beat.

RACE 1 --- CLM 40K – 6.5F TURF

2 DISSENSION 2-1 Bejarano
4 MORE STORMYWEATHER 6-1 Perez
6 PEARL DE VERE 3-1 Talamo
1 VANLOSE STAIRWAY 3-1 Garcia

2 DISSENSION – Highly successful angle, first off the claim for these owners and with Bejarano up. They are 14 for 26 (54%) and hit the board in 22 of those races (85%). This one already finished in front of many in here last out. Bred well for grass, this 5YO mare is 8 for 11 on turf. A game runner.

SA RACE 1 -- OPT CLM

2 PURE 9-5
5 DIVINA COMEDIA 2-1
4 SWEET PROFIT 4-1
3 MELANISTIC 5-2

2 PURE – If you look past the turf and the synthetic races, she looks pretty good. Tried G2 BE Suz last out at PIM on the Preakness undercard. 8th beaten 11 ran 3rd beaten a length in 150k Pen Oaks at 15-1. Second two back returned to win a MSW at 1-2 odds (82 Beyer). The winner 3 back won opc80k at 7-1 (83 Beyer). Gets Smith in the irons.

5 DIVINA COMEDIA – She missed break in both of her US starts but finished well in each of them. Winner in last is a promising filly for Carla Gaines (2 for 4, stakes placed and 91 Beyer in last). Big question if she’ll handle the dirt. Breeding is all turf on both sides. She has worked well on this dirt track.

SA RACE 1 -- MSW 56K – 7F DIRT

3 AWESOME LUCK 2-1
2 JEAN EDWARD 5-2
1 KISS MY FACE 4-1
5 URLOVENEVERFAILS 3-1

3 AWESOME LUCK – Ran a career best in her last start. She was really moving well at the end but just ran out of time. Got in tight two back and the rider lost his whip, likely made a difference for a better finish. Might take the lead in a paceless race. She gets a huge rider upgrade to the leading jock and comes in with a fast work just a week ago.

2 JEAN EDWARD
– 4YO filly has been 2nd in every dirt start (missed the board in the 2 turf starts). She got to the lead in both of the last two but was just outfinished. Might be the added distance will get her over the top. She has finished in front of the top pick in all 3 starts vs her. Blinkers added in last.

RACE 1 -- STARTER ALLW 40K – 6F DIRT

5 AIN’T MISBEHAVIN 2-1
1 OIL 8-5
2 HOT LIGHTNING 4-1
4 PAPA TURF 2-1

5 AIN’T MISBEHAVIN – Claimed away from a trainer at only 1 for 10 in money and no wins. Gelded since that claim and gets a massive rider upgrade to Bejarano. He has a sharp set of drills. Clockers say he is training well.

1 OIL–Was beaten at less than 2-1 in 3 straight but put it together in a blowout win last time out. Will have to deal with Papa Turf on the front end and faces better in here. Miller having a solid meet. Major respect due here.

RACE 1 -- PENNIES FROM HEAVEN 40K – 1M TURF

7 HEAT DU JOUR 9-5
3 TOPPERS SUNSHINE 4-1
2 JADE WITH ENVY 7-2
5 SORESCA 6-1

7 HEAT DU JOUR – Easily looks the class of the field here as she has been facing much tougher. Hindered by a slow pace in the Frans Valentine in last. Bejarano up here. Will need to move soon, no pace. Clockers big on last work.

3 TOPPERS SUNSHINE–May be the speed here. She had rough trips in the last two, didn’t break well in either. Can be game when allowed to relax on the lead. 6 for 14 at this 1M turf distance. Diodoro having a solid meet here.

MSW 56K – 1M TURF

6 GOMO 4-5 Gutierrez
7 JOAN OF ARCH 6-1 Van Dyke
1 DO THE DANCE 4-1 Desrmeaux
2 LIGHTHOUSE LEG 12-1 Blanc

6 GOMO –The word was out before her first start. Workout reports indicated a nice worktab. She pressed the pace off of the wire to wire winner. That winner came back and stopped in a stakes last weekend as the favorite. Decent blood for the grass. Another decent workout.

7 JOAN OF ARCH – Exits a key MSW in her debut. The runner-up came back to win the Landaluce and winner of that race was 2nd in the Landaluce. She was bumped at the start but passed runners late for a decent effort. Pearson 15% with 1st time turfers. Price will be right.

R2: OPT CLM 20K – 6.5F DIRT

4 MATRICULATE 6-5 Baze
6 LONDON LEGACY 4-1 Bejarano
5 ROMAN TIZZY 12-1 Valdez
3 TOUGH SUNDAY 3-1 Garcia

4 MATRICULATE – Very impressive in his debut. He came in with a few quick 5F works and ran to them. Spawr has only one other MSW debut winner and that runner came back to win her next start off an 8 week break. Clockers say he looks awesome prepping for return.

6 LONDON LEGACY – Was favored in the race won by the top choice. He was sitting in a good spot but couldn’t move with the winner but ran a credible 2nd. He came back and crushed in a career best last out. Keeps Bejarano and has a bullet work since last. Gets a good trip.

R1 -- CLM 10K-5.5F
5 PEACENIK 3-1
1 SIDEPOCKET CHAMP 5-1
2 NO CONTINGENCY 2-1
7 ENDLESS CRUISE 5-2

5 PEACENIK –Claimed in last by Yakteen, who has been in top 2 in 9 of 19 starts here. This 8 YO gelding has won 5 of 15 starts over 2 years, has a good record at distance and at SA. Excellent workout pattern since the claim.

1 SIDEPOCKET CHAMP
– He has run well since the blinkers were removed four back. Pressed a fast early pace in last and tired in the lane. The winner of that race won back for 25k claiming.

RACE 6 - MSW 56K–1M TURF

1 OSMOZ 15-1
11 LAMAAN 15-1
7 PRETENTIOUS 5-1
3 D DAY DUDE 12-1

1 OSMOZ – Mandella runner had one prep on the dirt, laid off for 8 weeks and comes back with great works for his first turf start. There is a lot of turf and class in the pedigree. Mandella is good with mile MSW races on turf for these owners (29%). Clockers high on his drills. Will be a massive price here.

11 LAMAAN – Did not get away well in the debut and was trying to make up ground behind a very slow pace. Love the pedigree for the turf. Dam won only race on turf. Sire was a 4x G1 turf winner and 2nd in the 2008 BC Turf. Likely see much more from him.

QUEENS PLATE

FREE FULL CARD ANALYSIS FOR CBY INCLUDING TOP 10 PLAYS OF THE DAY AT THE WEBSITE BELOW

WO RACE 11 (4:38 CT)

QUEENS PL 1,000,000 – 1M 1/4 DIRT
12 MILWAUKEE MIST 30-1
7 DANISH DYNAFORMER 3-1
1 SHAMAN GHOST 7-2
13 BEAR AT LAST 30-1

12 MILWAUKEE MIST
Sire was at his best at 1M 1/4 and longer. This one had some traffic trouble in the last two starts. He was bumped and wide in last but still only 4 back in the end. Could not find room two back. Only two off of Danish Dyn at KEE. Gets to stretch his legs. Major upset here.

7 DANISH DYNAFORMER
Might have lost a chance at a win in the Marine when shuffled back on the turn. He was really flying at the end of that one. Won the prep for this with a strong rally as the 4-1 second choice. Breeding suggests this is the right distance.
