Mike Gill @ Philly
19 claims the past 5 racing days, including 7 on Saturday (9/6).
Most with Tim Hooper. A few with Taglianetti.

Mike gill at philly
Mike Gill recently ran into big trouble at suffolk downs when he
violated the newly implaced rule that any owner who sold stock
to slaughter houses would be banned from suffolk.

WOW. That is absolutely amamzing.....400 horses = $500-800,000 a month in day rate + Vet bills (roughly).
If my math is right, he needs to earn an average of $34,000 a day, to break even.

James,
I've always wondered how this story ended.

Is Leonard Patrick working for Mike, again?

i met mike in rockingham with carlos. he is a good honest man. his first trip in this game was a roller coaster. he stepped back and figured out how to bring his level up a notch. no question he is good. the only problem i have with him is he hardly claimed any of our horses when he was in florida.
i am sure you are proud to be mike's dad. when i saw mike in rockingham he used to be with his brother. that had to be 6 years ago.

A post in another thread stated he was advertising for trainers. He was paying $1,000 a week, plus 5% of the purses. At say, ten horses per trainer, his out-of-pocket would be around $160,000/mo.

his expenses are actually going to be higher because he pays the grooms and hotwalkers and feeds them.
by the summer he will be winning 10-15 races a day. he is going to have so many horses the racing secretary's are going to have to write races with him in mind. he has so many trainers at the diferent tracks that he will probably have more horses than all the other owner/trainers combined at the differnt venue's. no doubt he will control things up and down the east coast.
i just wonder if he is just going to be regional or if he is going to spread his operation nationally this time again. i am sure every venue will want him.

You then met my son Guy , And you mention Carlos Figerola hes a good trainer , been in the game a long time , he picks up the horses that are in pain and runs them . thats not easy to do .and bring in a win .but against cheap horses but still a win .
