Perhaps because the politically correct, social justice nanny states they lived in didn't allow them to be armed? And perhaps being law-abiding gun owners, they complied with those laws?

[quote=mostpost;2321506][QUOTE=boxcar;2321427]A link to back up your claim? Funny the CDC report ordered by the Obama administration came to a different conclusion.

Due to the bias exhibited by most posters here, the only anecdotal evidence you will find here is about guys with guns taking down the bad guys.
That is why anecdotal evidence is worthless. Because you only look for stories that support your point of view.
For statistical proof, I present this FBI study conducted in 2014 and reviewing active shooter situations between 2001 and 2013.
https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/...013-1.pdf/view
At the end of the report there is a case by case breakdown of each incident and how the shooter in these situations ended up.
Apprehended by police: 32
Killed by Police: 32
Killed by an armed citizen: 1*
Apprehended by an unarmed citizen: 20
Committed suicide: 56
*Note that I considered a suspect shot by an off duty police officer or an armed security guard as being shot by police. If you insist on believing that they be considered as killed by an armed citizen, you should add three or four to that total. It's still four to one.

You are cherry picking data then. Several of the suicides occurred when a shooter was confronted by an armed citizen. The Washington Mall immediately springs to mind.
What point here are you trying to make anyway?

So then...if you're so impressed by these stats, haven't you made an excellent case for not only disarming private, law-abiding citizens but for disarming the police, as well? Shouldn't we do police work Brit style? Since unarmed people are smarter and faster than a speeding bullet out of gun by criminal, we should just outlaw all guns. Of course, we know that these kinds of laws don't deter criminals but so what? Armed criminals are clearly no match for unarmed people. (The notable exception, of course, are Chicago black fatalities by gunshot wounds. Apparently, they don't have the disarming thing down pat yet.)
And did that mighty fine FBI report tell you what the ratio of mass murders is to all other murders by guns?

Even the ex Nitwit-in-Chief Obama knew that if someone brings a knife to a fight, the logical response to that is for the other side to bring a gun! How much more, then when someone brings a gun that the response should at the very minimum be equal?
Also, I doubt very many police officers would buy into Mostie's spurious stats.

It's because he is making up his own stats.

Woman In Video Shooting armed man
If this woman hadn't intervened the man could have killed the woman he was after. It wouldn''t surprise me if she was an off duty police officer. Notice how she kicked the weapon away from the perp and then used her foot to keep him face down on the ground. She definitely had some good training. Don't mess with that lady! If he survives I hope he goes to prison for a very long time.
