AweSun Remote Access

About 2 days ago my cousin who is in the same retirement lodge as my grandma (plus where I work) got a call from "Amazon" saying that she signed up with an account and there was "suspicious activity" on her account so they asked her to give her credit card and also the key to get into her Apple mac

Seconds later the "Amazon" worker got into her computer and with using her credit card stole $5k from her to their Western Union account

Thankfully the bank here which is TD Bank has a VISA Debit linked with my aunt red-flagged the transaction and sorted it out to get her money back

The question I have is that she has now asked me since I do a lot for her computer and tech (that she has way too much of) to remove the program called AweSun

I searched up what AweSun is and it is a remote access program that hackers use to get into peoples computers and get their info

If anyone smarter than me on computers knows how to get rid of this as I have tried multiple times to delete without luck that would be great

Thank you in advance!

Try going into safe mode and uninstall it there.

Safe mode, just delete the exe and see if on reboot it gets re-created. If so there is something in your startup files re-creating the program every reboot. Start there.

Legit does not mean it should be on the computer. Remote access is not a good idea unless it is installed for a specific purpose.
