It's pretty insane watching the video and seeing how easily the whole thing comes down.

Awesome physics lesson. When I lived just outside Baltimore (house on the water very nice view of the bridges) my neighbor used to take us out in his boat. We would cruise under the bridges. I crossed that bridge via car too. I don’t think there was ever a time there wasn’t a construction crew working on the bridge. Damn shame those guys never saw it coming.

What I want to know is whether you were out sailing in Baltimore last night?

speaking of which, a South Carolina county has canceled school on eclipse day because they are concerned that kids will burn their eyes out by looking at the sun. Nevermind that there is no eclipse in South Carolina that day. It is 500 miles away. There isn't even a partial eclipse that day. The same SC that cancels school whenever winds gust to 25. It's pathetic down here. Hard to believe they started a civil war when they are such pansy asses today.

Rant over

you could see where they were working on the span that was impacted first. I can't imagine having the road surface fall away from under you. If it were me, the first second would be WTF is happening. The next second I'd be saying shit!! There was no third second. Hard to believe one of them walked away without a scratch. He needs to play the lottery tomorrow.

For someone who does not believe in a higher power to say it, you would be correct. However, most politicians and their spokespersons would offer their "thoughts and prayers" after tragedies up until recently. Obama used to say it, Biden said it to Trump when he had covid. Was there a memo that went around to discourage it because it wasn't cool to say anymore? Is it just more of the push to eliminate religion from our everyday lives by the left?

"Religion" is a personal matter between the believer and the object of his/her faith. It cannot be "eliminated from our everyday lives" by an outside force...unless we ourselves want it "eliminated".

Tell that to the populations of China or North Korea.

Baltimore port closed down for awhile will affect commerce on east coast as ships re-route. Bridge was used heavily for workers commuting and trucks transporting goods. The port was the 2nd largest coal export port in the country.

Costs for goods going to go up in our country. Even with a rush job, will be difficult to have replacement bridge made in less than 2 years
