Last word I'll ever say on the Grunder subject. Mistakes are one thing, and not liking an announcers "style" is another, but constantly mispronouncing names just comes across as a lack of preparation to me. I can't imagine having a job like his and not doing the simple things like learning correct pronunciations.

But then again, after listening to Bayern's name get butchered all year long and hearing how Trevor pronounced Kaigun this past weekend, maybe I shouldn't be so hard on him. I guess it is tougher than I realize.
Don't NOT be hard on him because of Trevor mispronouncing a word. Trevor mispronounced "tebowing" which was a popular culture situation that he wasn't aware of. Also, to not have ever heard of Tim Tebow is pretty amazing, he might have been the only person in America to not know who Tim Tebow is (for better or worse).

He's also had numerous popular culture situations where he botched names of incredibly famous people, so to count on Trevor to pronounce a person who has 20 million followers on twitter is a lot to ask.

As far as Grunder and preparation, maybe the guy is just old and can't see as well as he used to anymore. Maybe he's trying hard, but he's like a baseball player who can't see the ball and is batting .200, so it might be some part preparation and other part that he's just not an eagle eye anymore.

Only he would be able to clear this up, Tampa isn't a year round track, so, not sure why he's not here clearing it up....he's certainly heard of this place, same with Denman, he could come here and interact and if he was a regular poster here, no doubt we would be less 'hard' on him.

SRU has made 60 posts in the past two days....he knows nothing about horse racing, but tweeting about his mistakes is a full-time job. I'd spend my time reading a good book or taking a stroll by the ocean instead.

That's a good point. For all the crap I've given Grunder on this thread, I'm going to buy a copy of Southbound for my Kindle. Gotta support the young authors/announcers out there.

\I've heard that guy before, not sure who it is.

Maybe its the guy who was calling the races at the artist previously known as Calder?
