Limousine Liberal

First class horse.
7F optimal trip - loves the slop and Churchill Downs.

Ran a big race at Belmont yesterday.
Here's what his trainer said this morning:

Quote:

"He's come back well & scoped clean," trainer Ben Colebrook said one day after #LimousineLiberal's Bel Sprint Championship (G2) win. "Four weeks is a little quick to come back for the (July 28 Alfred G.) Vanderbilt (G1) so we will look to the (Aug 25) Forego (G1) & target that."

Nice horse, is it me or does the sprint division seem a little light this year?

Let's see. A 3 yr old filly ran 1 1/4 miles then crossed the Atlantic and ran another 1 1/4 miles . 2 mile and a quarter races in a week. But 4 weeks apart is too short for a 6 yr old gelding to run 2 sprints?

Yeah, think it is. Roy H hasn't looked the same this year. Mind Your Biscuits tried longer and hasn't won a sprint in the US in a year so who knows about him and where he'll be pointed. Division is ripe for some horse to come out of nowhere and take over.

LL is a good horse. Value probably on the decline unless he faces a big name next out.

Thought he was 2nd/3rd choice Saturday, but ended up the 9/5 favorite. Still paid well in multis. I'm a bit worried that next race he'll be a clear favorite in a similar field. I like LL better as mid/low price that can win or contend in a close race. Sit a trip, out-finish a couple others. Not really expecting dominant, electric, 1st-run/draw-off efforts.

If the Breeders Cup is at Churchill, LL has to be a contender. I know he finally ran a big race outside of KY, but I think he likes the "regimen" that he is allowed better in the Commonwealth.

I want to see how Chief Cicatriz runs at Del Mar.

He was entered and scratched recently but I didn't have time to read anything about why.
