The 6% number (Covid by itself with no other comorbidities) retweeted by Trump was deleted by Twitter.
But that 6% number is actually the same rubric countries like Germany and Japan have been using to report their Covid deaths since day one.
And the mainstream media went absolutely bonkers over that.

Dr. Alfred Sommer, an epidemiologist and dean emeritus at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.....
"People with co-morbidities die at higher rates, as do older people (some without serious co-morbidities but with aging, less responsive immune systems)," he wrote. "None of which makes any difference — if these people had not contracted COVID they would not have died at this time! So they are ALL COVID-caused deaths."
You Trumpite 6%-ters, are putting the cart before the horse. Or maybe Dr. Sommer, and ALL OTHER EPIDEMIOLOGISTS are lying to you, just to make your moron look bad?

The fundamental flaw of this new conspiracy theory is the assumption that the only “true” coronavirus deaths are ones that list only COVID-19 as the cause of death. But listing comorbidities alongside COVID-19 does not make those deaths any less attributable to the virus. Some of those comorbidities are caused by COVID-19; for instance, according to the CDC’s data, more than 14,000 people died also of sepsis, which is known to develop in COVID-19 patients. And over 54,000 people—around 30 percent of the total U.S. deaths—have respiratory failure listed as a comorbidity; it’s well established that COVID-19 causes major respiratory issues.
...Even if virus victims’ comorbidities are not directly caused by COVID-19, the virus could still very much be the primary cause of death. The CDC lists as comorbidities some long-term health issues like diabetes or hypertension. From the beginning of the pandemic, experts have warned that people with these conditions may be at higher risk for contracting the virus and may suffer more serious effects from it. But consider that many people with diabetes and hypertension are completely fine until they contract COVID-19; it is entirely possible to live a full life with these conditions, especially if they are well-managed. While diabetes and hypertension may have complicated people’s physiological responses to COVID-19, it is still very much the virus that killed them.

This is like saying the victims of the Titanic sinking all died of either drowning or hypothermia without mentioning the iceberg as a causation.
The most telling statistic is the number of excess deaths over the last 6-8 months, suggesting that the reported number of COVID caused deaths is probably understated.

LOL. No, it is not like that. At all. That might be the worst analogy I've seen in quite some time.
People with COPD or heart disease or cancer are going to likely die of that illness at some point. Covid just sped up the event. People aren't destined to drown or die of hypothermia without the iceberg. See the difference?

At some point for diabetes, COPD, asthma or obesity?
Why are you Trumpites carrying on a totally illogical Q'anon conspiracy theory?

You said.
"People with COPD or heart disease or cancer are going to likely die of that illness at some point. Covid just sped up the event."
At some point? Diabetes? COPD? What is the mortality rate of each, and even together, without covid-19?.
At which point?

The takeaway I see from the 94% number is that if you have any comorbidity conditions, by all means take precautions. But to shutdown the economy and destroy many peoples’ lives over a miniscule chance of dying from this thing is obscene and disgusting and due to politics.

No disagreement here that without covid19 these folks would have lived longer.
The problem is that with what we know today, there is really little good reason to continue the draconian shutdown measures on the very large majority of people who are not at significant risk themselves to the virus. And for the concern of them passing it on, there is again very little risk to those within that same very large majority. As to the significantly smaller group of people who are vulnerable or at risk, reasonable and adequate means can be implemented to protect THEM, while allowing the rest of us to return to the freedoms we were enjoying earlier this year.
It would seem that the reasons for continuing the draconian shutdown measure on the vast majority of us are mostly not medically or science-based, but rather for pushing POLITICAL agendas and ideology, which uses the unwarranted propagation of fear.
