This perhaps... plus, I think they were originally looking for a rematch with Monomoy Girl who is now going straight to Parx, making a run in the Alabama kind of pointless for WG if they are out to try and clinch the divisional title.

I think it's probably a mistake to run WG in the Travers even though the 3yo colt division looks weak. She would have been the favorite in the Alabama. She'll be 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th choice in the Travers depending on who shows up. I'd rather be the favorite to win a 600k race than 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice in the Travers for 1.25m with some chance of coming away with nothing.

I applaud the efforts of trying her in the Travers and given the lack of talent in the male division 3 year old and up, I do think this is the year that a filly can make some noise in the BC Classic.

I originally thought Monomoy Girl was the filly that could have a chance to have an impact in the Classic. However, 10 furlongs might too far for her. This horse has shown she prefers the 10 furlong distance.

The purse difference in the Classic vs. Distaff is material.
